Two new things.

This clumsy expression of the gods in humanity expressed as avatars in works like american gods, promethia, and phonogram, is the same kind of laboured fumbling as lovecrafts early evocations of the greek. There is something there, in the gods in humanity... but it's implementation of them as actors who participate in the narrative in the same framework as other characters rings hollow.

That the Greeks could laugh at their gods masks that it was also understood that the gods move under the earth. That these positions are not in conflict should concern those who have decided final proofs lie in the former.
