How many gods are right to worship

i don't think a religion where there's an expectation to bow to 12+ gods because someone wrote a list of 12+ gods is resonant in the same way as a religion where the gods worshipped are informed by the land
My working definition of paganism is 'the human individuals religious response to their environment' .
